Acupuncture & Holistic Care

My practice is deeply rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a holistic system of health and wellness used for thousands of years. Acupuncture aims to stimulate the body's own healing mechanisms, regulate energy flow (Qi), and restore balance to the body, mind, and spirit.

While acupuncture is the primary treatment, other gentle techniques like moxibustion or needle-free options may be used when beneficial. We'll discuss the best approach for you during your consultation.

Acupuncture can help with a wide range of conditions including pain management, anxiety & depression, headaches & migraines, ADHD & autism, digestive issues, sleep problems, and overall wellness. I use a holistic approach to address both symptoms and underlying causes.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves the insertion of very thin needles through the skin at strategic points on the body. These points are located along pathways called meridians, which are believed to carry the body's vital energy (Qi).

The practice dates back thousands of years and has evolved into a sophisticated system of healing. Modern research suggests that acupuncture may stimulate the nervous system, release natural painkillers, and trigger the release of various biochemical substances that help regulate the body's natural healing processes.

During a treatment, the needles are typically left in place for 15-30 minutes while you relax. Most people find the experience deeply relaxing and report minimal discomfort.

The number of treatments needed varies depending on your condition and how your body responds to the therapy. We'll work together to create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and health goals.

Other Techniques

Supporting your healing journey with complementary methods

While acupuncture is powerful on its own, I often incorporate other traditional techniques to enhance your treatment. These methods can be used alongside acupuncture or as standalone treatments, depending on your needs and preferences.

Aroma Point Therapy

A resonance based system that combines the vibrational agent of the essential oil to the vibrational point of a specific acupuncture point. A gentle, needle-free, sensory friendly treatment.

Laser Pen Acupuncture

I use a superpulsed biostimulation laser that replaces the needle for acupuncture stimulation. It is quick, sterile and painless.

Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture

A specialised microsystem therapy focusing on points in the ear that correspond to different body parts and functions. This treatment can be performed with or without needles and is effective for pain management, addiction, anxiety, and stress reduction.

Tui Na Massage

An ancient form of Chinese therapeutic massage that combines manual techniques like pressing, kneading, rolling, and manipulation to stimulate acupuncture points and meridians. This hands-on therapy helps to improve circulation, relieve pain, and restore balance to the body.

Shonishin

A specialised Japanese paediatric treatment developed specifically for children. Using gentle, non-invasive tools to stroke, tap, and press on the skin, Shonishin stimulates acupuncture points and meridians without needles, making it comfortable and effective for babies and young children.

Moxibustion

A traditional Chinese medicine therapy using dried mugwort (moxa) that is burned near the skin to warm specific acupuncture points. This gentle heat penetrates deeply to boost circulation, strengthen the immune system, and address conditions like pain, digestive issues, and reproductive health concerns.

Cupping Therapy

An ancient healing practice that uses special cups to create suction on the skin, drawing blood to the surface. This increases circulation, releases fascial restrictions, reduces pain and inflammation, and helps remove toxins from the body's tissues, leaving characteristic circular marks that fade within days.

Far Infrared Light Therapy

A modern therapeutic approach using invisible light waves that penetrate deeply into tissues, creating gentle warming from within. This therapy increases circulation, reduces inflammation and pain, accelerates healing, and promotes cellular regeneration without discomfort, making it suitable for all ages.
